Yielding to political pressure, Ernesto Drangosch left Uruguay under a military dictatorship and went into exile in Barcelona in 1974. Everything there is much bigger and faster than in Montevideo. Ernesto Drangosch paints the port and its giant ships, surrounded by heavy infrastructures, cranes, large buildings and towering feminine silhouettes, as tall as buildings and as transparent as the sea.
